It has been discussed that duplicate PCR’s printing at the hospital still remains an issue. Version 5 of the EPCR system is designed to assure internet printing with the pcr reaching the proper destination and should help prevent duplicate copies. When printing a PCR with a disposition code of Wilson Hospital, the PCR is now sent through the IP Printer. At this point in time, Wilson is the only hospital with internet capabilities and will be until we correct the issues. It seems that although the PCR is being sent via IP Printer providers are still faxing a copy or printing several copies to the hospital. This is causing a large inconvenience due to the extra cost of printing so many extra PCR’s.
